rest has come to me (misc.)

For the next few days, I will actually be home, with nothing to do. I have 9 days between trips and plan on being a little creative with how I use my time. Well, really I plan to just do what I want to do. After a school year of teaching/graduate school and then a summer of full time student-hood, the state of "nothing that needs to be done" is completely unfamiliar.

Typically, when I have even a little time on my hands, I feel a need to go away. Other than an overnight visit to my family, I will attempt to amuse myself in a small radius of home for a bit. I live in a place where local museums are world-class, I can see movies outside, and there is more to do every night of the week than any one person could do in a year. I need to make this week full, in that good way.

I also want to start doing things that I was not able to do over the school year that are important to me. I want to cook, read, write letters, go to the gym, and have meaningful connections with friends each day. I know these are essential elements of having the life I want to have...and, somehow they all became optional over the course of one very busy year.
