sleepy and happy
At this moment, I am completely enjoying the weekend. I had my typical breakfast (oatmeal and coffee) and am now preparing to do a little something in a while. No rushing. No place to be...and, a general list of things I need to do. Weekends mean something else when you are not working very much; they are not that different than your daily life so they loose the little joy that the uniqueness of resting brings. But, after a few 12-hour days, there really is nothing like a weekend.
This week has been a little intense. Teaching first grade is as physically and mentally demanding as kindergarten. I am so happy to be around my students again and am acutely aware of how I need to refine my approach to each moment. Not that there has been any big issues...but, I want to be (and can be) more patient, more caring, more focused, more joyful, more intentional. My students deserve me to be the best I can be.
I'm excited to find this year's new routine. It will help everything.
