Honeymoon
Last night, some friends came over for MYOP (make your own pizza) and the topic turned to our plans for a honeymoon. Dave and I have kicked around some ideas - national and international. We have tried to anticipate our needed level of vacation after being up in Big Sur for a week for the wedding. I love to travel but am conflicted by the fact that maybe I'll want a honeymoon to be a different kind of trip. But, maybe I'm just being overly influenced by media of my past.
Growing up, this commercial and others for the Mount Airy Lodge were on heavy rotation. My honeymoon does not have to be filled with heart shaped tubs and fancy dives into a pool, despite what TV told me (over and over again) during my youth.

a couple of thoughts about this - are you looking for a honeymoon that will allow you to "relax" after the frenzy of a wedding , or are you looking more for a trip that will take you someplace new and doing some exploring. We did the latter and out of the 16 days of our "honeymoon", spent only one afternoon sitting by the pool with a tasty foofy drink. All the other time was spent traveling, exploring and wandering around Oz. We had it set up so that we left about a week after our wedding and since we didn't have much wedding "frenzy" (due to my over organization-ing), we had the energy to do this. Other folks I have talked to really needed the down time, where they went one place and didn't do anything other then sleep and eat for a week and loved it. So I guess it really comes down to is what your primary objective is. I highly recommend Australia if you want to go on an adventure. :)
Oz has always held my interest. I studied in New Zealand in college and Australia seemed so close. I think we're going to have to hold off the decision for a while. But, I feel like we have some adventure in our future.
