Woo Hoo

Today, I rediscovered my Woo Hoo playlist. I made it last summer and have not listened to it since then. It starts strong with a little Gogol Bordello, moved to a little Instant Pleasure and then lots of big sound music. I love it. A playlist makes all the difference as you attempt to navigate the tangled web of LA freeways.

P.S. The House in the video is confusing to me...but, I enjoy the House so, what the heck.

P.P.S. Although I missed my exit from the 134 to the 2, I found my way home. Another reason to have a little WooHoo!

Some nights, I feel like my only friend in this city is the 2 Freeway.

I can't help but wonder if CA had exit numbers on the signs, would I have still gotten lost?

I like the history of the Freeway. Thanks!

This reminds me of an old story...

Years ago, when I barely knew LA and was interning on a film, I was doing some runs and driving around with a friend/fellow intern. We got a call to get back to set immediately because we were running late.

So we put on a tape of the theme song to "The Saint," from the movie that had just come out. I figured it would help me drive faster. Instead, I kept driving down the wrong streets and getting stuck in dead ends. It was embarrassing.

So we decided that "The Saint" theme was like a black cloud, and instead put on the "Mission Impossible Theme." Suddenly, I could do no wrong on the road and made it back to set within a few minutes.

Nice. It's all about the music.

You're a Californian now. Exit numbers and street grid systems are a thing of the past.
